. >> this is coming possibly in response to the massive problems with the healthcare.gov website. the obama administration will now allow individuals extra time to sign up for those insurance plans. ko im is live in southwest d.c. at the department of health and human services with more on the story. how much extra time do people have now, ko? >> reporter: good morning to you. that extra time being six weeks. originally you had to sign up till february 15. now you have till the end of man according to the folks at the department of health and human services. you may have tied to be the early bird and tried to sign up onlive when the website healthcare.gov launched on october 1 but you ran into some issues. now they're being told those problems, the glitches will be fixed by the end of november, that the website should be running smoothly by then. there's reportedly a list of dozens of fbis but the law and the site are both under scrutiny. here's what white house press secretary jay carney had to say. >> we have acknowledged that health care.gov has not performed adequately. and the presiden
